How would you control the speed for a pocket bike with electric motor?

Ive got this electric motor from an electric lawnmower and was wondering if I could make a pocketbike or some type of electric bike out of it. But how would I control the speed?

    you would need to control the voltage to the motor. there are several ways to do that… but first you need to know more about the battery and the motor like power ratings, RPMs, and voltages….there are tons of books on how to build controllers that would help… good luck and dont forget to learn as much as you can….
